Experience

Summer 2008: Technical Specialist (intern) - Lockheed Martin Simulation Training & Support, Orlando. Projects included:

            - Testing and deployment of IP-based videoconferencing system, including site surveys, setup, training, and performance monitoring

- Development of web-based IT asset management system to track provisioning of hardware and software, including development of integration with Active Directory environment, functional specification, customizable workflows, and reporting functions (Tabular, Graphical, and PivotTable functionality). Written for PHP / MySQL.

- Creation of a Web-based analytical tool for reviewing charges in various categories on mobile devices used by 400 employees          

Summer 2007: Network Operations Specialist – Seminole County (Fla.) Public Schools

            Deployed VMWare Server Virtualization pilot, reducing management and energy costs; deployed nComputing desktop virtualization system, reducing hardware and software licensing costs; completed a wide range of changes in network software including Microsoft Server systems; evaluated and developed applications for systems management, and participated in decision-making meetings regarding district IT policy changes.

            Summer 2006: Associate Network Operations Specialist – Seminole County Public Schools

            Implemented district-wide IT projects; deployed servers, network hardware and applications; and evaluated software for future deployment.

            2001-present: Self employed – Blizzard Technology, IT consulting

Small-business information technology consulting company serving more than 25 clients, including medical and dental offices, real estate agencies, consulting firms and schools.

            2004-2007: Development and sale of BT Tickets and BT Labtime

Two Web-based applications for equipment trouble tracking and lab scheduling, for use in schools. Currently implemented at several schools in Orange and Seminole counties, Florida.

2005-2006: Wrote and released IP-Screener

A (beta) plugin for the WordPress content management system. It is listed in all major plugin indices and was downloaded over 150 times in its first month.  

            2004-2005: Intern – Lyman High School

Computer Repair / Network Management team

            Responsible for repair and maintenance of school’s computers, servers and network function. Jobs ranged from basic hardware repair to enterprise application development and network troubleshooting.
