Work Experience

Computer Security Analyst – Lockheed Martin Simulation Training & Support, Orlando (June 2009 – )

• Managed security scanning and remediation project, including Foundstone scanning. Built unified reporting systems aggregating vulnerability scan data with other systems to more reliably report on and remediate issues identified. With automation, reduced monthly time spent compiling reports by more than 75%.
• Managed Least Privilege initiative, eliminating unnecessary privileges from 50% of user population. Also set definitions, goals, and metrics calculation methodology used by other Lockheed Martin business units.  Developed software to automate collection of approvals and change access as required.
• Developed “Collaboration Wizard,” an easy-to-use web interface guiding users to select appropriate collaborative tool for their needs. Collaboration Wizard has been adopted at the Corporate level for deployment to all 140,000 Lockheed Martin employees.
• Worked with finance department to codify practices used for billing back wireless device usage, and built automated process to parse bill data and charge back according to rules. Process reduced monthly time required to handle by more than 75%, and includes validation against enterprise wide systems guaranteeing accuracy in data.
• Managed deployment of videoconferencing to local executives and off-site locations, including training, infrastructure, and webcam based videoconferencing to allow instantaneous virtual meetings.
• Received SPOT award December 2009 for being “instrumental in improving STS’s security posture” through Foundstone scanning and Least Privilege efforts.

Technical Specialist / Intern - Lockheed Martin STS (May 2008 – May 2009)

• Developed ATACS, a web-based IT asset management system to track provisioning of hardware and software to 3,500 employees, including integration with Active Directory, functional specification, customizable workflows, and reporting functions. (Tabular, Graphical, and PivotTable functionality).        
• Tested and deployed IP-based videoconferencing system, including site surveys, setup, training, and performance monitoring. Created documentation and training materials; provided on-site and online training.

Network Operations Specialist – Seminole County (Fla.) Public Schools (Summer 2007)

Deployed VMWare Server Virtualization pilot, reducing management and energy costs; deployed nComputing desktop virtualization system, reducing hardware and software licensing costs; completed a wide range of changes in network software including Microsoft Server systems; evaluated and developed applications for systems management, and participated in decision-making meetings regarding district IT policy changes.

Implemented district-wide IT projects; deployed servers, network hardware and applications; and evaluated software for future deployment.

 Self Employed – IT consulting (2001 – )

Small-business information technology consulting company serving more than 25 clients, including medical and dental offices, real estate agencies, consulting firms and schools.

Two Web-based applications for equipment trouble tracking and lab scheduling, for use in schools. Currently implemented at several schools in Orange and Seminole counties, Florida. (Still in use as of April 2010.)

Wrote and released IP-Screener (2005 – 2006)

A beta plugin for the WordPress content management system. It is listed in all major plugin indices and was downloaded over 150 times in its first month. Adopted by MIT OpenCourseWare.
